Tasting - Fetzer Riseling

Name: Fetzer Riesling
Variety: Riesling
Region: Monterey County, California
Country: United States
Year: 2013
Price: $10.00

Wine Critic Review: This is delicious, and very much California style wine. You'll never confuse this with a Grand Cru Alsace Riesling, and that is okay. Light gold color, soft, peachy, apricot, drinking drier than the 2.7 residual sugar would suggest, nice balancing acid. Simply lovely. (from johnonwine.com)

My Review: The color of this wine was a sunshine yellow. There was not much acidity smelled on the nose, but there were strong notes of peaches and honey. On the palate, the acidity did not cut through in a dramatic way, it kind of snuck it's way in on the mid-palate so that you were fully aware of it by the finish. It does seem a little a dry at first, but the sweetness comes in on the mid-palate. I tasted this wine without food.
